Bold Beasts: 6 Merseyside Rescue Animals Who Need Homes RIGHT NOW

The cold winter is nearly upon us, and it’s always heartbreaking to think that there are animals out there who are without a permanent home at this grueling time of year. Below, we’ve listed half a dozen gorgeous animals who are need of forever homes as soon as possible, along with contact details if you are able to help.

Twix

Location: Freshfields Animal Rescue

Twix is a friendly little soul who needs to find a forever home. As he is just 4 months old, Twix is still full of kitten energy, and is very playful and loving. And just look at that face! If you think you could be the one to give Twix his ‘happily ever after’, contact Freshfields on 0151 549 0959, or visit their Facebook page.

Ty

Location: Freshfields Animal Rescue

This cheeky chappy is Ty, a gorgeous 6 year-old Staffy who needs a new home as soon as possible. As with any adoption, there are several factors to take into account when deciding if Ty is the right dog for you. Firstly, he has never lived with cats, and so if you have cats in your home, Ty is probably not the right fit. He is also not used to small children. He is, however, good with other dogs, especially out on walks. If your home and Ty are a match made in heaven, contact Freshfields on 0151 931 1604.

Lawson

Location: Carla Lane Animal Rescue, Melling

This old gentleman is full of wisdom and affection, and is looking for a loving home in which to live out his golden years. Lawson in estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old, but as the saying goes, there’s life in the old dog yet. He still loves going for walks and meeting new people. However, Lawson is not too keen on other dogs, so it would be ideal for him to go to a pet-free home. If you think you can provide that forever home, contact Carla Lane centre on 0151 549 0959 and arrange a meeting.

Zeno & Zedd

Location: Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary

This impossibly cute duo are inseparable, and so are looking for a permanent home together. They are two gorgeous 9 week-old boys, who are neutered, chipped and currently in foster care in Norris Green. Please call Rescue Me on 07952017696 for any adoption enquiries. Rescue Me specify that you should not email or private message, but do leave a voicemail if you can’t get through.  And to reiterate, please only apply if you are willing to adopt BOTH kittens.

Jessie

Location: Carla Lane Animal Rescue, Maghull

As you can see from this picture, Jessie is an absolutely gorgeous Border Collie, who is in need of a home. She’s very calm and gentle, if a little shy. She needs a peaceful home into which she can settle quietly and gradually. Jessie will make a great companion for one lucky soul out there – if you think it could be you, get in touch with the Carla Lane shelter.

Jade

Location: Carla Lane Animal Rescue, Maghull

Jade is an older lady who ended up in the care of the wonderful staff at Carla Lane, after her original owner became unable to take care of her anymore. She has a lovely temperament, and no special needs to take care of – she just needs regular meals and love.

Even if you can’t give a home to any of these beautiful animals, please do consider donating pet food or money to one or all of the centres listed above. They do such great work in the community, and rely primarily on volunteers. If you’re based in the Waterloo/Crosby area, you can drop food off at Write Blend on South Road during opening hours – they act as a collection centre for Rescue Me.
